Lady Vashj has died! /mourn

People don't lie when they say Vashj is one of the toughest encounters in the game. Not only does it require a new level of group coordination and raid management, but it also represents a huge challenge for the individual. In getting ready to type this, I kept thinking of ways to put into words the improvement in the guild that I saw over the course of learning the fight. Really, the best way I can say it is simply this: Learning the Lady Vashj encounter and executing it to the T has made everyone in the guild a better player. Our players are now stronger players. We're now a stronger guild. And I couldn't ask for anything more.


Without further adieu...

Tonight, Monday, was our second full night of Vashj attempts. The previous night had many attempts ending with 3/4 generator wipes and even a few select excursions into phase 3. Knowing this, we came tonight with a renewed confidence and intensity.

We first made some changes to step DPS and core tossing with great success. A couple hours of fine tuning and people swapping later, we had our first real solid phase 3 venture. A bit of miscommunication and unfortunate deaths ended the attempt at 12%.



Two quick phase 1 wipes and disconnects later, we buffed once more.



By this time most of us were out of flasks and down to using the old raw consumables. People shared what they could in terms of mana pots, health pots, etc, and then we charged. One death, courtesy of a cleave, through phase 1 and 2 brought us to a solid phase 3.



Then she died.
